Who We Are

Healthy Indulgence is an independent health food shop based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

Established in 2011 by Sarah Hagen, qualified Advanced Nutritionist, the shop stocks a wide range of organic, vegan, and allergen-free food and drinks, chilled and frozen foods (including home-cooked meals), herbal remedies, vitamin and mineral supplements, homeopathy, body care, home care, and aromatherapy. A refill service for hair, body and home cleaning products is also available.

Sarah offers food sensitivity, gut microbiome, and stress function testing services, alongside consultations, and comprehensive blood tests (such as cholesterol, vitamin deficiencies, and hormone levels). For detailed information please see ‘What We Offer’.

Specialising in full gut healing protocols, Sarah believes we can make a big difference to our health by re-balancing the body and the microbiome. She’s proud to have been awarded UK Practitioner of the Year 2024 by CNSLab, and has had a successful partnership working with the lab and their food sensitivity testing for many years.

Sarah’s ethos is to treat clients as unique individuals. Every person is different and needs holistic, tailored health advice based on their diet, lifestyle and stage of life. She works with clients on the Isle of Wight, UK and internationally who have problems with ME/CFS, thyroid, IBS & IBD, high cholesterol, skin conditions, Type 2 diabetes, menopause and many more.

They take pride in supporting and helping with any health and lifestyle concerns or queries, and it’s essential for the team to have up-to-date knowledge of new research, studies, trends and products.

Meet the Team

  • Sarah Hagen

    Sarah is the founder of Healthy Indulgence, and a qualified Advanced Nutritionist and phlebotomist. She’s been awarded UK Practitioner of the Year 2024 by CNSLab.

    Sarah trained as a nutritionist after changing her own diet and lifestyle to make a full recovery from debilitating ME/chronic fatigue.

  • Fran

    Fran joined the team in March 2019 after being a regular customer for years.

    Sarah’s expertise helped her recover from a long period of illness and chronic fatigue. Fran now follows a wholefood, plant-based diet, and has studied nutrition and mindfulness.

  • Lesia

    Lesia came to the Island from a stressful situation in Ukraine, and began working at Healthy Indulgence in 2022.

    Sarah has helped Lesia manage and reduce her stress reactions. She is now studying for her nutrition qualifications, and enjoys helping people make a difference to their health.

  • Michelle

    Michelle has been working at Healthy Indulgence since 2014.

    Always keen to expand her knowledge on health, she’s learnt a lot from Sarah during her time here. Michelle's family have adopted a healthy vegan diet which has dramatically improved her asthma and her son’s skin issues.
